Shepherd's Desk

Overview

Shovelware Studios LLC ("Shovelware Studios," "we," "us," or "our") provides the Shepherd's Desk mobile application. Shepherd's Desk is a free, ad-free Bible reader and Scripture reading-plan tool. We designed it to work without a Shovelware Studios account, advertising, analytics, or tracking.

Information we collect

Shovelware Studios does not collect personal information, device identifiers, precise location, contacts, payment information, advertising data, analytics, or app-usage data through Shepherd's Desk. We do not sell or share personal information for advertising or marketing.

Reading plans, plan names, reading progress, settings, and imported plan codes are stored locally on the user's device unless the user chooses one of the backup or sharing features described below.

Optional backup, import, and sharing

On supported Android devices, a user may request a private cloud backup. Android's backup service stores that backup in the user's Google account. Shovelware Studios does not operate the backup service and cannot view or retrieve those backups. Google's handling of that data is governed by Google's privacy policy and the user's Google account settings.

Users may also export or import a plan-backup file. Exporting or sharing a plan code, text, image, QR code, or backup occurs only when the user initiates it and selects a destination app or service. That destination's privacy practices apply after the user sends the information.

Camera and photos

Shepherd's Desk may request camera access when the user chooses to scan a QR reading-plan code. It may open the device's photo picker when the user chooses to import a code from an image. Images are processed for that requested function and are not uploaded to or retained by Shovelware Studios.

Data retention and deletion

Because Shovelware Studios does not receive or maintain user accounts or app data, we have no developer-held Shepherd's Desk data to retain or delete. Users control local data by deleting plans, clearing the app's storage, or uninstalling the app. Users can manage device backups through their Google account and device backup settings. Copies deliberately exported or shared by a user must be managed through the destination chosen by that user.

Children's privacy

Shepherd's Desk is intended for a general audience and is not directed specifically to children. The app does not knowingly collect personal information from children or any other users.

Changes and contact

We may update this policy when Shepherd's Desk or applicable requirements change. The effective date above will be updated when revisions are posted.
